Volkswagen is recalling 42,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a potential airbag issue. The affected models include the Jetta, Passat, and Tiguan from 2010 to 2014. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, debris might damage a cable that powers the front airbag, which could prevent it from deploying properly. So far, nine complaints have been reported, but no accidents or injuries have occurred. Volkswagen is working on a fix and will notify owners when it’s available. They advise that if the airbag monitoring light illuminates, owners should urgently contact a dealer to get their vehicle checked or repaired.
