Essential Insights into Thunderclap for Social Media

Social sharing is extremely powerful. When something “goes viral,” it means people are spreading your content and amplifying its message. Trending topics on platforms like Facebook and Twitter are determined by the content that everyone is sharing.

Thunderclap is a marketing tool designed for social amplification. With this tool, you run a campaign by asking your supporters to schedule social media posts for your launch. At the scheduled time, followers of your supporters across various networks will all see the same message. Here’s how to effectively use Thunderclap for your social media campaigns.

To start a Thunderclap campaign, visit their website. Click on “Start a Thunderclap” at the top of the screen. You’ll have the option to either get started immediately or check out examples of similar campaigns. It’s a good idea to look at these examples and some case studies of successful campaigns to get a sense of what works. When you’re ready, click “Start.”

Next, fill in all the necessary details about your campaign. This includes your name, bio, and social media tags. You’ll also need to provide campaign-specific information such as a catchy title, the main message, and a link you want to include. You’ll need to set an end date and a supporter goal, but note that the campaign can’t last more than 60 days.

You’ll then have the chance to add a campaign photo and a few paragraphs explaining why you are running the campaign. You’ll also need to provide your email address so Thunderclap can notify you once your campaign is approved.

On the right side of the screen, there’s a “Preview” button. Click it to see what your campaign page will look like. Once you’re happy with it, click “Create and Continue,” then confirm and submit it for approval.

Your campaign’s success depends on your efforts to gather supporters. Continually ask people to sign up and support your campaign. Effective campaigns create a sense of urgency and have a clear call to action.

You need at least 100 supporters for your Thunderclap campaign to go live. If you fall short, even by one supporter, your campaign will not launch. Also, keep in mind that supporters have to authorize Thunderclap to post for them, which some might be hesitant to do.
