Sweetgreen is a rising startup that’s all about salads and is often compared to Chipotle. It was founded in 2007 by three friends from Georgetown University. Their main goal was to make healthy food fun, easy to get, and appealing to everyone. Jonathan Neman, one of the co-founders, expressed that healthy food shouldn’t just be for the wealthy elite. After spending time in Australia, he came back to the U.S. and was disappointed by the lack of affordable meal options. Shortly after they graduated, Jonathan, along with his friends Nicholas Jammet and Nathaniel Ru, opened the first Sweetgreen.
