In the future, you can own a piece of the pet retail giant, Petco. On Monday, Petco Holdings Inc. announced it is gearing up for its third initial public offering (IPO) in 30 years. Back in 2006, the San Diego-based company left the public markets after a significant $1.8 billion leveraged buyout led by Leonard Green & Partners and Texas Pacific Group.
The documents Petco submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission don’t reveal which exchange they plan to list on or how many shares they will offer. Goldman Sachs & Co., BofA Merrill Lynch, and J.P. Morgan are mentioned as the main underwriters for the IPO, a move that was initially rumored this summer.
