The remains of the Galleon San Jose, often referred to as the ‘Holy Grail of Shipwrecks,’ have been discovered in Colombia. President Juan Manuel Santos shared that the Spanish galleon, which sank over three centuries ago, was found near the Caribbean port city of Cartagena. The ship contained a treasure trove of gold, silver, precious stones, and valuable jewelry estimated to be worth around $17 billion. During a press conference on Saturday, Santos announced plans to create a museum to display the recovered artifacts. So far, sonar images have revealed cannons, weapons, pottery, and other historical items, according to a Reuters report.
